Sweets for Seal Day - Part 2 of 2

I have lots of pictures for this event and had a hard time choosing which ones to share.  So many people helped put this event together - tons of volunteers, awesome vendors, and especially my friend Jill who organized the event.  I was so happy to put together a dessert table for the event and all of the proceeds went towards the MMCC.

The pictures below are of the dessert table.  It was a very windy day and I wasn't able to add height to the display like I had wanted, but the plates I did use stayed in tact throughout the day with no casualties :)  Everything below is homemade except for the meringue cookies from Trader Joe's (I love these!).

The best part of this event was the kids that came.  To me - kids are the best critic because they don't hold back and are very honest.  They loved the desserts (especially the seals and marshmallows) and really made me smile.  Here's the mascot for today's event.

These doggies were playing with a puppet puppy they thought was real - I guess they are sniffing hello...

These guys and gals were great.  They loved the cake pops and had so much fun with them :)

Two cute kiddos that kept coming back for more!

One of the great volunteers sharing her seal craft...next time I have to take the time to make one of these!

I love this picture - especially the blue tongue!

Too sweet!

More deception for doggies - you can't see it, but there's a guy holding the puppet (marionette) with strings.

The last lonely seal - he didn't last that long.

And the depleted table...

Sweets for Seal Day - Part 1 of 2

Here are some photos of all the little sea creatures, cake pops, and marshmallows I created for Seal Day.

- Fishy Cupcakes: cupcakes with icing made to looks like waves and some with a lot of sprinkles with pretzel goldfish (people loved the name)
- Ocean Blue Marshmallows: big marshmallows dipped in blue candy coating and blue / white sugar crystals
- Ocean Blue Cake Pops: cake pops in blue / white candy coating and blue / white sugar crystals
- Seal Pops: cake pops in white candy coating, white sugary fur, candy eyes, chocolate nibbler nose, and chocolate sprinkles for mouth
- Coco Seal Marshy Pops: big marshmallows dipped in white chocolate and coconut for fur, candy eyes, chocolate nibbler nose, and chocolate sprinkles for mouth

My favorite were the Coco Seal Marshy Pops, but I didn't get to try any because they went too fast!  The kids at Seal Day loved both and it was so rewarding to hear their praise :)

I also included pics from the hydrangeas used for the seal day - embelished with a little seal cut out with my silhouette machine.
