Ribbon Curtains - March 2010

I made my first ribbon curtain as a last minute detail for the Sugar & Spice Baby shower.  It was so easy and added such a pretty backdrop for the dessert table I wanted to spend some time and create more for the next few parties I'm helping with.

The first few are for my niece and to be god-daughter's Christening - I actually made 4.  The background is inexpensive window panels from Walmart decorated with classic pink and white satin ribbon and lace.  Will show more pictures after the party.  The next ones are for a friend's boy baby shower.  They gave me a ribbon swatch and asked for green and blue dots.  I used a plastic tablecloth and green and blue ribbon from Walmart.  The last ones are for my god-daughter's 3rd birthday party.  She loves Minnie Mouse so the lots and lots of polka dots will hopefully be perfect!

Here are pictures from after the food and guests arrived.  I want to thank everyone that helped set up, during the shower, and after - everyone had so much fun - especially the 2nd time mom & dad to be.

Sugar and Spice Baby Shower (Part 1 of 2)

I try to reinvent the details I use with every event and with this baby shower we used a ribbon curtain as the backdrop for the dessert table.  This is something that I have seen and wanted to create for a while now.  I can't wait for the next time when I can make it even better!  this event was extra special because i got to work with my friends dana, cecelia, and elizabeth who really helped with so many details.

I split this post into two because we took so many pictures of planning, setting up, and during the event.  This first post has pictures from the planning (invitation, decorations, baking) and setting up (decorations at event location withouth goodies & guests).
