Minnie Polka Dotted Party - April 2011 (Part 1 of 2)

These party decorations were for my god-daughter Lily's 3rd birthday.  Lily is my best friend Chrissy's daughter.  Chrissy was having Lily's family party on a Saturday and kid party on a Sunday.  I unfortunately wasn't able to make it to either because I was flying back to California the Sunday prior, but I still wanted to help with the decorations.  The following pictures are from the planning and preparation stages at my parents home in NJ and at Chrissy's house where we staged the family party.  Minnie Mouse is Lily's favorite - as you may be able to see with the Mickey Mouse clubhouse show in the background of one of these pictures :)

Italian Meatballs and Broccoli Rabe - March 2011

My mother did a quick cooking lesson for me and my best friend Chrissy on one of the nights I was home and here are some pictures we took while cooking.  I was mostly watching as I had the chance to play with my god-daughter Lily while Chrissy & my mom did the cooking :)  We had these meatballs and the broccoli rabe at the christening - both are great for any party!

Pink Lace Christening March 2011 (Part 1 of 2)

This soft pink and white lacey event was put together for my niece and now god-daughter Mia Marie.  These are just a few pictures I took during the preparation.  Part 2 will showcase pictures taken by my best friend Chrissy who sidelines as a photographer.  The dessert table was set on a buffet table my dad just built in time for the event (he's a carpenter).  The dessert plates were decorated with pearls and rose ribbon and set on candlesticks from ikea.  The cookies were all homemade by my mother.  I made the chocolate dipped marshmallows and pretzels a few days before the event and checked them in my bag from California to Philly.  We used tulips from our local grocery store in vases, posted pictures from Mia's 1 week photo shoot in frames, and candles purchased from ikea all over the house as decorations.
