I created this cake for a baby boy shower (same one as the blue & green ribbon curtain was for). The diapers are pampers swadlers sensitive size 1. I purchased the diapers & ribbon at Walmart.

Ribbon Curtains - March 2010
I made my first ribbon curtain as a last minute detail for the Sugar & Spice Baby shower. It was so easy and added such a pretty backdrop for the dessert table I wanted to spend some time and create more for the next few parties I'm helping with.
The first few are for my niece and to be god-daughter's Christening - I actually made 4. The background is inexpensive window panels from Walmart decorated with classic pink and white satin ribbon and lace. Will show more pictures after the party. The next ones are for a friend's boy baby shower. They gave me a ribbon swatch and asked for green and blue dots. I used a plastic tablecloth and green and blue ribbon from Walmart. The last ones are for my god-daughter's 3rd birthday party. She loves Minnie Mouse so the lots and lots of polka dots will hopefully be perfect!

Cake Plates - March 2010
A friend had asked me for help to find a cool inexpensive cake plates to display cupcakes. Marshall's always has the best deals for beautiful cake plates, but we also found other options like making our own. One rainy night we went to Home Depot and saw cut our own trim (no one would help us!), buy a base, small leg, spray paint, and a small square of plywood (they did help us for this one). I also found 12" white ceramic round plates from Shinoda that I purchased pink and white pearls from Walmart to decorate. For my niece's christening the cake will most likely be 12" so a 14" cake plate is needed. I found really inexpensive 14" cardboard cake plates from Walmart, glued 2 together and decorated with 2 rows of pearls. The last three pictures below were posted previously, but to keep all cake plates together I reposted here. These are ceramic and glass plates from Shinoda and Walmart I decorated with pink rose ribbon and pearls.
Here are some pictures from my first trial of putting them all together:

Christening Preparation - March 2011
My sister wanted my niece and to be god-daughter Mia's christening to be very innocent with soft pink and whites. Her christening gown is satin with pearls and flowery lace. So for the party's decorations I used pink and white pearls and pink rose ribbon to adorn some of the cake plates.
Here are some pictures from the planning stages.

Sugar and Spice Baby Shower (Part 2 of 2)
Here are pictures from after the food and guests arrived. I want to thank everyone that helped set up, during the shower, and after - everyone had so much fun - especially the 2nd time mom & dad to be.
