Ruffles and Lace Baby Girl Shower - March 2012

We threw this shower for a work friend of mine who's nothing but a guy's guy.  I tried to keep it simple and not too girly, but everyone was so excited for this fabulous couple's upcoming arrival I couldn't help but go a little crazy with the ruffles and lace :)

Here are the diaper cakes & ruffle table skirt I made.

Here's the dessert table complete with homemade cinnamon cupcakes, chocolate beer cupcakes, banana bread, cake pops, and onesie sugar cookies...
Here are other pics from the party...

All the foods were from Costco...love that place for quick and easy foods :)
Here's the lunch table before the food arrived...

Here is the happy couple!

MMCC Valentine's Wine Tasting - February 2012

My friend Jill asked me to help with desserts for her annual Valentine's Day Wine Tasting Fundraiser for the Marine Mammal Care Center in San Pedro.  The event was again a huge success thanks to Jill, who organized the event, the host the Corner Store, the awesome musicians, guests, and of course all the wonderful volunteers!  I had a lot of help from my husband on this one.  Doing the superbowl party the week before left me with little time to prep for this event, but we did it :)  He made a ton of the cupcakes - and they were huge - both in size and in taste!!

Superbowl - February 2012

Well, it's definitely been a while since I last posted.  I have a ton of parties to catch up on posting and will do so one at a time.  The first is the Superbowl party this past February.  As Eagles fans it was hard to route for the Giants, but we figured they were the lesser of two evils :)  I wanted to keep this party adult themed with chocolate beer and margarita cupcakes, guiness pudding, chocolate beer brownie pops, and also some cheesey beer dip.  My husband made the best brocollini (Cali version of broccoli rabe) stromboli for this party...something I hope we make again very soon!  I also tried girl scout cookie pops, but they were a bit difficult to dip.  Cake pops are just so much easier.
