Sweet Child O' Mine Rockstar Party in Progress

I was asked to help friends of ours with their first born's first birthday party and when I showed them a few party example pictures - they fell in love with a rockstar party :)  Especially since dad is a huge Guns N' Roses (GNR) fan.  We will add GNR details to the party, which will also include guitar hero games, drum set centerpieces, rockstar cake pops, and a black / white zebra with aqua blue color scheme.  Many more details to follow, but for now here are some pictures of the invitations.

This little one is amazing.  I met with mom and Reef to go over details and he was full of personality!  Definitely an entertainer :)  Mom and dad took this picture of little Reefster, which was perfect for the invite!

I attached magnets to the back of the invites so guests can place them on their fridges for easy remembering.

I made the invites with my silhoutte digital cutting machine - here's the pattern I cut out.

and here's the finished pile of envelopes:

Here are the invites all ready to be stamped and placed in the mail.

Minnie Polka Dotted Party - April 2011 (Part 2 of 2)

Part 1 of pictures from this party can be found here.  These pictures are from my best friend Chrissy who is mom to this wonderful little girl Lily Marie, who is also my god-daughter.  Lily is in love with Minnie Mouse and I was very excited when Chrissy wanted to do Minnie for Lily's party because I love polka dots!

Chrissy had Lily's family party at her home on Saturday and her kid party at Little Gym on Sunday.

We set up a week early because I unfortunately couldn't make it.  The desserts were homemade by Chrissy's family and look delicious!  Chrissy made the chocolate covered marshmallows and pretzels which also look amazing!

I made the party hats out of wrapping paper doubled up with cardstock.  I stapled the mickey mouse ears and ribbon and hot glued the feathers on for the girls.

The favor bags started as basic bags from Michaels with mouse ears.  For the girls I added Minnie Mouse ribbon bows glued on and tutus.  The tutus were made with organza and some thread.  For the boys I just added Mickey Mouse pants with buttons.

We had pictures of Lily on display throughout the party.  Both Chrissy and I are big fans of photos and I love doing this at parties.

Here are pictures from the kids party at Little Gym.

Thank you Chrissy for these pictures!  It looks like you had a wonderful time!  And thank you again for letting me help you with the decorations!

Pink Lace Christening - March 2011 (Part 2 of 2)

My best friend Chrissy took these beautiful photos of the Christening.  Part 1 can be found here.

First the dress and the favors - my sister picked an elegant silk dress with lace and pearl details.  The favors were Italian and had 5 almonds sewn in them for good luck!

This was one of many ribbon curtains I made for the event.  The transport of them caused some wrinkling that they did not recover from.  The one we used was pretty cool and we were able to straighten it out pretty well.

These guys are too much - so happy and so in love with their tiny little beautiful baby.

My mom did all the cooking.  Everything turned out great and we had leftovers for the entire week.

My dad made this buffet table - he built a lot of the furniture in the house and the house itself!  In his spare time he's now babysitting my niece Mia while mom and dad are at work!

These transported really well in tupperware in my checked bag - made these the Thursday before the Sunday party and they still tasted really good!  I'm not a fan of the non-perils, but they went well with the pearls on Mia's christening gown.

She really is the cutest baby ever!  Thank you again Chrissy for these amazing pictures!  And thank you to Elwood and Marie for chosing me to be Mia's godmother and to allow me to decorate the party!
